Spin4Heroes Raises Record-Setting $64K

INDIANAPOLIS — The Heroes Foundation’s sixth annual Spin4Heroes event on March 13 raised over $64,000 to support its programs serving the Central Indiana cancer community. Cancer fighters of all ages made up the 69 relay teams that gathered to pedal for four hours inside the Community Healthplex Sports Club. (See more photos.)

“We could not be more pleased with the turnout. We topped last year’s Spin4Heroes by over $10,000. This event just keeps getting bigger not only because people care about the work of the Heroes Foundation, but also because it’s just fun,” says cancer survivor Vince Todd, Jr., co-founder and chairman of the Heroes Foundation.

Spin4Heroes is an indoor relay-style team cycling/spinning event. This year’s event included six spin instructors and a DJ to keep the energy level high, with tunes ranging from “Devil Went Down to Georgia” to various college fight songs. Each team raised funds ($400 minimum) for the Heroes Foundation and took turns on the bike. Eighteen volunteers on site kept participating cancer survivors, families, kids and others pedaling for the cancer community.
